Deli Volv serves fresh and delicious salads and sandwiches made from locally sourced ingredients. A little about them from their Facebook:
I strive to make eating healthy as convenient and tasty as possible.
I bake my whole grain bread with cold stone ground wheat which, according to the American Diabetic Association has a very low glycemic index under 55. I also use a multitude of other whole grains and seeds including chia, flaxseed, buckwheat, sorghum, oats, and several others so there is a variety of important vital nutrients and minerals.
I’m dedicated to using only healthy oils, so I make my own mayo with avocado oil because of its healthy fats and nutrient dense profile. I fry my sweet potato and classic chips in canola oil because it has a healthy 2:1 ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids and is mostly composed of monounsaturated fats which are very important for reducing inflammation and increasing healthy HDL cholesterol.
I’m also dedicated to keeping sugar minimized. The sugar that I use mostly comes from natural sources like whole fruit juice or grain malt, and I supplement my beverages with sucralose because of the well-backed research behind it and the benefits of replacing nutritive sweeteners with it.
I have a high priority for making sure diets are composed with only healthy oils, slow-burning carbs, and plenty of nutrients and protein."
